The Association of Bulgarian Schools in America (ABSA) is an initiative established to support, guide, and promote the interests of Bulgarian community-based heritage language schools and organizations across the United States. ABSA serves students and schools as experts, innovators, and partners with a goal to not only unite all of the Bulgarian language schools across the United States, but also to facilitate communication among schools, increase their visibility to U.S. educators and politicians, urge for recognition of students’ heritage language proficiency via the Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Seal of Biliteracy, voice the need for financial support and funding, and help support them with whatever they may need.


The presence of a strong network of sustainable Bulgarian heritage language community-based schools in the United States by 2025.

We provide all of the locations and contact information of Bulgarian schools throughout the United States. You can use our database to find the school near you by clicking “locate”.

We serve to ensure that the quality of education in every school is up to by assisting your local schools in anyway we can. The Association provides expertise to students and the community-based schools through a range of services, including administrative consulting, technology consulting, HR, accounting, IT infrastructure, and database management services; professional development and board training; free information and referral services.
